What the app does

Protein Quality Scanner helps you evaluate protein quality in food products by scanning barcodes and analyzing ingredient lists using PDCAAS (Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score).

Data we collect

Camera access

The app uses your camera to scan barcodes. Images are processed locally on your device and are not stored or transmitted to any server.

Product lookups

When you scan a product, we query the Open Food Facts database to retrieve product information. This is a third-party open-source service. See their privacy policy at openfoodfacts.org/privacy.

Scan history

Your scan history is stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to it and it is never uploaded to any server.

Advertising

This app displays ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. See Google privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand general app usage patterns (such as which screens are viewed and which features are used). This data is anonymized and aggregated.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except as described above for advertising and analytics services.

Data retention

All protein intake data and scan history is stored locally on your device only. We do not store any personal data on our servers. AdMob (Google) may collect anonymous advertising data according to their own retention policies.
